The VERIFY® Chemical Indicators for S40 Sterilant are designed for exclusive use with 91Ώμ»ξΑΦ automated Liquid Chemical Sterilant Processing Systems – including SYSTEM 1® endo Liquid Chemical Sterilant Processing System and SYSTEM 1E® Liquid Chemical Sterilant Processing System. The easy-to-use indicator verifies that the minimum recommended concentration of S40® Sterilant Concentrate use dilution has been met to achieve liquid chemical sterilization. One box contains two bottles with 60 indicator strips in each bottle.
How the VERIFY Chemical Indicator for S40 Sterilant Works
A VERIFY Chemical Indicator strip for S40 Sterilant is used during each 91Ώμ»ξΑΦ automated liquid chemical sterilant processing cycle to detect the presence of an effective concentration of the active ingredient, peracetic acid, in the use dilution of S40 Sterilant Concentrate. Test data demonstrates that the VERIFY Chemical Indicator for S40 Sterilant strips achieve a PASS result when exposed to peracetic acid concentrations greater than the MRC, 1820 mg/L, in use dilution of S40 Sterilant Concentrate in 91Ώμ»ξΑΦ automated liquid chemical sterilant processing systems that employ S40 Sterilant Concentrate in a controlled cycle for 6 minutes at 45.5 – 60 °C.
The unprocessed chemical indicator is blue. When exposed to an effective concentration of peracetic acid in the sterilant use dilution of S40 Sterilant Concentrate, the indicator changes color from blue through grey/beige to pink (see the reference colors on the bottle). The indicator’s pink PASS color may become more pink when exposed to higher peracetic acid concentrations.
